Hi, my name is Michael Simmons. You probably arrived here because you read my post featuring Charlie Munger.
If you're like me, Munger's 'big ideas from the big disciplines' intrigued you. As a special gift, a friend and I put together this 27-page report, which summarizes the 25 big ideas he's identified throughout his 70-year career.

We humans have evolved over tens of thousands of years in an environment that is very different than the one we live in now. During this evolution process, we developed unconscious biases, which helped us survive in those tough environments, but can hinder us in today’s modern society. By recognizing those biases and applying them to our decision-making, we can make infinitely better decisions. Over his 70-year career, Charlie Munger (Warren Buffett’s long-time business partner) has done exactly this. The end result are the biases in this report. The biases are excerpted and condensed from several of Munger’s speeches. We also provided more context for each one to make it more digestible.
It includes 3 goodies:

One of Munger’s biggest insights into psychological biases is using checklists. Checklists allow Munger to use the right models at the right time when he’s making important decisions.
Every bias has links to related resources and research.
There isn’t one. I love building relationships with people, and I think one of the best ways to start a relationship is by giving.
I'm a writer, connector, and entrepreneur.
I write for Forbes, HBR, Inc., and the Huffington Post on the art & science of authentic relationship building online. I write longform seminal articles that use vulnerable storytelling and deep research. My aim is to expose new ways of seeing the world that are immediately useful. I believe that how we build relationships in the future will be fundamentally different than it is now. I write about this shift. You can learn more about me at http://michaeldsimmons.com/bio.
Special thank you to Ian Chew for the research assistance on this report.
